How it works
Yoga
Sahara Dry Grip Aid works by repelling sweat away from the hands and the feet, so you have better grip on the yoga mat or floor. Normally, sweat will be created by exercise, and move to hands and especially the feet as they are the lowest part of the body. The droplets of sweat reduce friction with the mat or floor, causing slips and falls. Sahara Dry repels sweat away from where it is sprayed, so although you will still sweat, the sweat will not create droplets. Instead, it will be repelled to the outer parts of the skin, where it evaporates or is removed by contact before it has any effect. Therefore you will have better grip, and as it is not absorbant, the effect will last all session.
FAQs
Sahara Dry uses a super hydrophobic drying agent that repels water, including sweat. The silica powder in the spray will cover the hands and feet, removing sweat by forcing it upwards, from where it evaporates naturally into the atmosphere. Therefore, sweat droplets cannot form, and you will have high levels of natural friction.
The drying effect of Sahara Dry will last for hours, and until it is removed with soap and water. It is best applied before the activity starts, so the powder can contact the hand, and once in the wrinkles and on the surface of the hand and feet, sweat will not remove it, unlike with chalk.
Sahara Dry dries the hands and feet in seconds, and then it will last for hours. You can apply at home before going to your session, the effect is not affected by the wearing of socks or shoes, or you can apply just before the start of your session.
Sahara Dry is made with natural ingredients to create natural friction, so there are no adverse effects to wearing it. The silica is derived from sand, and alcohol is used on hands daily as a sanitizer. As the spray is oleophilic, you should wash after use as repeated use can dry hands slightly, but that is the worst reported effect to date.
Sahara Dry has not been tested on animals and contains no animal based products.
You can, but if the equipment is absorbent we suggest that you do not spray it as the alcohol could be absorbed and create an odor. As the spray is so fine it is unlikely. The dried spray on your hands and feet will not have any effect on the yoga mat. Most handles on pilates equipment are non-absorbent.
Yes. Just apply it as you did when you applied it the first time.
